Medical Admin Assistant
Medical administrative assistants provide clerical and laboratory assistance under the supervision of licensed health care professionals. Their duties include administering laboratory screening tests, and verifying medical documents. They also schedule appointments, manage hospital admissions, and organize patient files.
Many educational programs are available to help you get started in medical assisting. Many programs include an internship which provides hands on experience in medical institutions. A high school diploma or GED is required to become an entry level medical administrative assistant, but generally a college degree is preferred for the best opportunity for advancement.
